CVPI Webinar #3 | Empowering Safety

Join us for the third webinar in our six-part series on asset-based approaches to community violence prevention and intervention for out-of-school time (OST) professionals. This session will focus on proactive safety planning, emphasizing prevention and preparedness strategies to strengthen OST programs before emergencies occur.

Participants will engage in a scenario-based tabletop exercise, exploring how to identify risks, establish protocols, and integrate safety planning into program structures to mitigate potential threats before they escalate. Experts from the Readiness and Emergency Management for Schools (REMS) TA Center will provide guidance on developing comprehensive safety plans, strengthening communication strategies, and building partnerships withing the school community to enhance program-wide readiness. 

This hands-on session will equip OST professionals with practical tools and resources to ensure their programs are well-prepared, connected, and proactive in preventing safety risks while fostering a secure and supportive learning environment.
