Asset-Based Community Violence Prevention and Intervention Webinar #6 – Amplifying Youth Voices: Leadership in Community Safety

Join us for the final webinar in our six-part series on asset-based approaches to community violence prevention and intervention for out-of-school time (OST) professionals. This session highlights how OST programs cultivate youth leadership and empower students to shape safer schools and communities. Learn strategies to elevate student voice and position youth as leaders in violence prevention, emergency preparedness, and recovery.

Participants will explore practical tools and expert guidance, with a spotlight on Wilmington, North Carolina’s Teen Court program, where OST initiatives engage youth in restorative justice through teen-led mock court sessions.

Hear from local education leaders and rediscover resources shared during the series from the Readiness and Emergency Management for Schools (REMS) Technical Assistance Center. Walk away with actionable strategies to structure youth engagement, build leadership skills, and support career pathways in public service and community safety.
