From the Desk of Dr. La’ Shawndra Scroggins

Hi, everyone! My name is Dr. La’ Shawndra Scroggins, and I am the 21st Century Community Learning Centers Group Lead at the U.S. Department of Education. I am delighted to welcome you to the Nita M. Lowey 21st CCLC National Technical Assistance Center. If you lead or work in a 21st CCLC program at the State or local level, this new center is the premier place for you. It’s the result of thoughtful reflection on expansive data collected directly from the field. We listened to your needs, your stories, and your data. That led us to create a center that can provide the depth and breadth of content and technical assistance you need and deserve to support the valuable work you do.
Here you’ll find opportunities to learn with and from each other and from experts in the field. You’ll have access to technical assistance that fits your needs and your schedule, ranging from intensive to targeted to universal services, delivered through a multitiered system of supports. Whether you’ve worked in 21st CCLC programming for a day or a decade, you’ll find practical, capacity-building tools, resources, and professional development infused with evidence-based strategies and best practices. We’ll be announcing new opportunities and resources throughout this year, so I encourage you to connect with us at 21stcclcntac.org and follow us on social media to stay informed. Programs like yours can have a positive, lasting influence on students and families, and I am ecstatic to introduce you to a new generation of learning, community, and support.
